HC Deb 30 November 1977 vol 940 c268W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Social Services whether he has received the communication from the hon. Member for Newham, North-West about an individual, details of whom have been sent to him, who received almost £3,000 in social security benefits though refusing to get up to go to work and for whom his Department has purchased or supplied with money to purchase an alarm clock; and whether he will publish in the Official Report an answer to the various queries as contained in the Member's letter.

Mr. Orme

Yes. The hon. Member will receive a reply as soon as our inquiries have been completed. As the reply will give particulars of the individual concerned, it will be in confidence, and, therefore, unsuitable for publication.
