(2) under what circumstances approximately 500 non-British EEC nationals drawing British supplementary benefits were told by his Department to find a job or leave the United Kingdom;
(3) what estimate he has made of the number of non-British EEC nationals currently living in the United Kingdom without regular employment and claiming to be looking for employment, under Article 48 of the Treaty of Rome; and what estimate he made during any convenient date during the summer holiday season.
§ Dr. SummerskillThe cases were reported to the Home Office over a period of one year by the Department of Health and Social Security under a standing arrangement relating to foreign nationals who draw supplementary benefit. Information is not available which would enable an estimate to be made of the numbers of EEC nationals here looking for employment.
