§ Mr. Staintonasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will investigate the variety of concessionary bus fares operated by local authorities with a view to bringing forward proposals for a national scheme to overcome anomalies and inequities in adjacent and similar areas.
§ Mr. HoramAs is explained in the White Paper on Transport Policy (Cmnd. 6836), my right hon. Friend has already examined this matter carefully, and has concluded that local authorities are best placed to provide concessionary bus fares.
