asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will inquire into the dangers of children being savaged by Alsatian dogs compared with the dangers of being savaged by other dogs and into steps to avert these attacks.

Mr. John:

No. I am of course concerned that those responsible for dogs that may be dangerous should keep them under proper control, but I do not believe it would be useful to undertake the study suggested in my hon. Friend's Question.
