HC Deb 03 May 1977 vol 931 c109W
Mr. Loyden

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what action he now proposes to take after consideration of the Price Commission's recent report on the prices and distributors' margins for potatoes and other vegetables.

Mr. John Fraser

The latest report from the Price Commission indicated that although vegetable prices were much higher in the period considered than at the same time the previous year, distributors' gross cash margins were, in aggregate, reduced for the six vegetables examined. There is therefore little reason to think that distributors have been acting unreasonably.
