Argyll and Clyde:

Ravenscraig Hospital, Greenock—The final phase, largely comprising support services, of the redevelopment of this psychiatric hospital.

Development of psychiatric services in Renfrew District—Replacement psychiatric beds to relieve pressure upon Dykebar Hospital.

Ayreshire and Arran:

Mental deficiency services in Ayreshire—To meeting existing needs for mental deficiency beds in the area.

Borders:

Borders District General Hospital—A new hospital of about 400 acute, geriatric and psychiatric beds, to replace existing unsatisfactory accommodation.

Dumfries and Galloway:

Geriatric Unit, Annan—A geriatric unit of 30 beds to meeting existing need in the Annan/Gretna area.

Fife:

West Fife District General Hospital: Phase I—To comprise 240 geriatric, psycho-geriatric and psychiatric beds, with supporting services, as the first stage in the development of a new hospital in Dunfermline.

Fife College of Nursing—To centralise training facilities and to meet increased demand for nursing services.

Forth Valley:

Royal Scottish National Hospital—A unit of 120 beds to replace existing unsatisfactory accommodation at this mental deficiency hospital.

Greater Glasgow:

Gartnavel General Hospital—To replace Glasgow Homoeopathic Hospital and to provide 120 replacement geriatric beds.

Leverndale Hospital: Phase I—The first phase of the redevelopment of this hospital will replace 240 existing psychiatric beds.

South Eastern District Group Nurse Training School—To provide nurse training facilities within the South Eastern District.

Royal Hospital for Sick Children—A clinical genetics unit to provide counselling and research facilities for the West of Scotland.

Belvidere Hospital—A 120 bed replacement geriatric unit to correct the imbalance of geriatric services in the area.

Highland:

Caithness Central Hospital: Phase II—To rationalise acute hospital services in the northern part of the Highland area.

Fort William Geriatric Unit—A new 30 bed geriatric unit.

Lanarkshire:

Kirklands Hospital, Bothwell—To rerplace the existing 220 bed mental deficiency hospital by a new unit on an adjacent site.

Lanarkshire Geriatric Unit—A 120 bed replacement geriatric unit in the Hamilton/East Kilbride area.

Birkwood Hospital, Lesmahagow—A new 120 bed unit to relieve overcrowding at this mental deficiency hospital.

Lothian:

Herdmanflat Hospital—A new unit to provide 72 mental deficiency beds.

Western General Hospital: Phase II—development of acute services.

Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School—Replacement of existing hospital and school on a new site.

Royal Infirmary: Plastic Surgery and Burns Unit—Replacement of existing plastic surgery and burns unit presently located at Bangour General Hospital.

South Lothian College of Nursing—Provision of new nurse training facilities.

Hospital development, Dalkeith—To provide 120 mental deficiency beds and 60 geriatric beds.

West Lothian District General Hospital—To replace Bangour General Hospital on a new site in Livingston.

Tayside:

Royal Dundee Liff Hospital—A 60 bed unit as a first stage in the replacement of the main building of this psychiatric hospital.

Perth Royal Infirmary: Phase I—To rationalise existing acute hospital services in the Perth and Kinross District.

Western Isles:

Lewis Hospital—Provision of new operating theatre to replace existing provision.

Geriatric unit, Barra—New provision for geriatric services associated with LA residential accommodation.
