Argyll and Clyde:

Merchiston House, Linwood: Phase II—To complete the development of this mental deficiency hospital.

Ayrshire and Arran:

South Ayrshire District General Hospital: Phase I—Replacement hospital, ultimately of about 700 acute psychiatric and geriatric beds, sited in Ayr.

Dumfries and Galloway:

Mental Deficiency Unit, Dumfries—To meet existing need for mental deficiency beds in the area.

Forth Valley:

Geriatric services, Falkirk—A scheme comprising 180 beds mainly to replace existing unsatisfactory accommodation in the district.

Bellsdyke Hospital—A unit of 120 beds to replace existing unsatisfactory accommodation at this psychiatric hospital.

Grampian:

Royal Cornhill Development: Phase I—The first phase of a psychiatric unit to replace existing accommodation.

Greater Glasgow:

Woodilee Hospital—A new unit containing 120 replacement beds to improve accommodation at this psychiatric hospital.

Eastern District Psychiatric Centre—A centre for psychiatric services in the community: clinically linked with Gartloch Hospital.

South Glasgow Young Chronic Sick Unit—New accommodation to correct the present imbalance of services for the young chronic sick in the area.

Stobhill General Hospital: Phase I—Redevelopment of existing accommodation to rationalise acute services in the district.

Rutherglen Hospital—A new unit of 240 geriatric and psycho-geriatric beds to ease imbalance of these services in the area.

North Glasgow Psychiatric Unit—A new psychiatric hospital to relieve overcrowding in existing facilities.

Gartnavel Royal Hospital: Phase I—The first phase of the redevelopment of this existing psychiatric hospital.

Highland:

Craig Dunain—A modernisation and replacement scheme to relieve overcrowding in this psychiatric hospital.

Lanarkshire:

Psychiatric unit—To replace psychiatric beds at Hartwood Hospital.

Lothian:

Royal Edinburgh Hospital development: Phase II—To provide 240 long stay and 120 short stay psycho-geriatric beds for patients in the Edinburgh area.

Princess Margaret Rose Orthopaedic Hospital, Spinal Paralysis Unit—A new 40 bed unit to replace existing services in the area.

Princess Margaret Rose Orthopaedic Hospital, Rehabilitation Unit—To be built in conjunction with the new spinal paralysis unit.

Psychiatric services, North Edinburgh—To provide the balance of beds required for the Edinburgh area and provision for child and adolescent psychiatry.

Central Pharmacy and Sterilising Services, Edinburgh—A central unit to serve the whole of the Lothian area.

Western Isles:

Lewis Hospital—To provide a new 30 bed geriatric unit replacing existing accommodation.
