§ Mr. Knoxasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the estimated industrial growth rates for the past three years; and what were the actual rates of growth.
§ Mr. Joel BarnettForecasts of manufacturing production were published for the first time in December 1976, and again in March 1977. As they cover the period to the second half of 1977 and first half of 1978 it is too early to compare estimates with actuals. Industrial production grew by 0.5 per cent. in 1976, following falls of 5 per cent. and 3 per cent. in 1975 and 1974 respectively.
