HC Deb 20 June 1977 vol 933 cc376-7W
Mr. MacGregor

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what will be the total increase in unemployment benefit for a married man with two children under 11 and one child aged between 13 and 16, previously earning £30, £40, £50, £60 and £70 a week, respectively, as between October and December 1977.

Mr. Orme

Under the benefit uprating proposed for November 1977 the flat rate unemployment benefit payable to a man with a wife and three children will increase by £4.25 a week, irrespective of the ages of the children. The rate of any earnings-related supplement in payment will not be affected by the November uprating.
