asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the current figures of unemployment for the city of Cambridge; and what proportion of those unemployed is under the age of 21 years.

At May 1977, 2,390 people were registered as unemployed in the area covered by the Cambridge employment office. The numbers unemployed are analysed by age ranges in January and July each year. At January 1977, out of 2,636 people registered as unemployed, 372— 14.1 per cent.—were under 20 years of age and 654— 24.8 per cent.—were aged 20–24 years.
