HC Deb 14 June 1977 vol 933 cc162-3W
40. Mr. O'Halloran

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what recent consultations he has had with leaders of organisations representing employers and trade union leaders of the Greater London area regarding unemployment; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Golding

My ministerial colleagues have had frequent consultations about unemployment in London in recent months with a number of organisations, including those which represent employers and trade unions, and these consultations have helped broaden our knowledge of the problem of unemployment in London. London has, of course, benefited from the special employment measures we have introduced, and for an account of these I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave to my hon. Friend, the Member for Hackney, South and Shoreditch (Mr. Brown) on 3rd May.—[Vol. 931, c. 163.]
