HC Deb 04 July 1977 vol 934 cc396-7W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many persons sentenced in England and Wales for terrorist offences and not acknowledged as connected with the IRA but still connected with the Northern Ireland troubles have been transferred to prisons in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

No persons serving sentences in England and Wales for acts of acknowledged terrorism not connected with the IRA have been transferred to prisons in Northern Ireland. One prisoner believed at the time to have links with organisations not connected with the IRA but concerned in the Northern Ireland troubles was transferred there in 1975.
