HC Deb 10 February 1977 vol 925 cc846-7W
Miss Richardson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many current order books a widow receiving widowed mother's allowance who claims child benefit for (a) one child and (b) two or more children will normally have after April 1977; and, in each case, whether this number will be more than she had prior to that date.

Mr. Orme

From April 1977 a widow who has at least one child will have two order books, one for her widowed mother's allowance and one for child benefit. At present a widow with two or more children has two order books, one for her widowed mother's allowance and one for family allowances; but a widow with only one child, who does not receive family allowances, has only one book.
