HC Deb 03 February 1977 vol 925 cc271-2W
Mr. Sedgemore

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make available to interested local authorities a computer listing of his Department's household projection programme.

Mr. Armstrong

The Department has existing arrangements to provide a household projection service to local authorities at a small fee. There have been few recent representations to extend this service. However, if there is a demand to do so then the Department will consider, after consulting with local authorities generally, what suitable arrangements might be made. An existing convenient forum for such discussions would be the National and Local Government Statistical Liaison Committee.

Mr. Sedgemore

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will place in the Library the latest household projections for each local authority area.

Mr. Armstrong

Official household projections are not produced at present for individual local authorities. However, work is in hand, and results are expected to be available by mid-year, giving household projections for each county in England. When available, copies will be placed in the Library.
