Lord INGLEWOODasked Her Majesty's Government:
1752WAHow many members of the Metropolitan Police Special Constabulary were on duty during the afternoon and early evening of 17th November as a back-up to such regular police as remained in different parts of the area from which large numbers must have been withdrawn for duty in connection with the demonstration and procession to Westminster.
§ Lord HARRIS of GREENWICHThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that no Special Constables were on duty during the demonstration, which took place mainly in working hours.
