HL Deb 22 November 1976 vol 377 c1751WA
Lord INGLEWOOD

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many policemen were on duty in connection with the demonstration and lobbying on 17th November; how many police constables had their leave cancelled in order to carry out this duty and what is the approximate cost of extra pay and of any special feeding or other administrative arrangements involved.

Lord HARRIS of GREENWICH

The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that 2,581 police officers were on duty. I regret that the other information is not readily available.
