HC Deb 22 November 1976 vol 919 cc838-9W
Mr. Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many stonemasons are employed by his Department at Okehampton Castle in Devon; how many stonemasons have been employed there since his Department took over the responsibility for running the castle; and what is the annual cost to his Department of the upkeep of Okehampton Castle.

Mr. Guy Barnett

Seven works staff are employed currently and about the same number have been employed annually since 1967, when responsibility for the castle was accepted. The cost of works last year was £20,000 and is expected to be rather less this year.
