§ Mr. John Mooreasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, when officers in the NHS travel to conferences, etc. in the course of duty, they are permitted to be accompanied by their wives at public expense either by having their wives' expenses paid officially or by claiming their own entitlement and downgrading their class of travel so as to use the saving made for their wives' journeys; and whether there have been any such cases.
§ Mr. MoyleThe relevant agreements do not permit either course of action, and I am not aware that these have been contravened.
