§ 29. Mr. Joseph Deanasked the Secretary of State for Defence what progress has been made in reducing the number of single-Service career information offices; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WellbelovedIn recent years steady progress has been made in co-locating careers information offices and there are now 57 bi- or tri-Service offices in the United Kingdom out of a total of 287. There are, however, a number of difficulties, such as the terms of existing leases and finding suitable new premises, which make the combining of offices a relatively slow process. None the less, whenever the lease of a single-Service office expires, the feasibility of combining with another Service is closely examined.
