HC Deb 02 November 1976 vol 918 cc549-50W
Mr. Adley

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why it took his Department three months to answer the inquiries from the hon. Member for Christchurch and Lymington about the post-vaccination circumstances of Tanya Price of Christchurch; and what information, if any, became available during those three months, which was not previously available.

Mr. Alfred Morris

I would refer the hon. Member to my private secretary's letter to him of 16th September which followed the earlier acknowledgement of his letter. As that letter explained, the reason for the initial delay was that the consultant in charge of Tanya wrote to her parents seeking their permission to disclose information about their daughter's case. I am assuming that the hon. Gentleman will now have received the further letter sent to him about this case.
