HC Deb 04 March 1976 vol 906 c717W
40. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Chancellor of of the Exchequer what revenue he estimates will accrue to the Treasury this year and in the succeeding two years from the taxation applied to private medical insurance schemes.

Mr. Denzil Davies

For 1975–76 the revenue yield cannot be precisely estimated, but it is thought to be less than £5 million. For 1976–77. when last year's legislation relating to medical insurance benefits comes into effect, the yield is likely to be between £5 million and £10 million. For 1977–78 the yield is expected to be about £10 million, but the amount will depend upon the effect of the legislation on the subscription income of the insurance schemes.
