HC Deb 28 January 1976 vol 904 cc256-7W
Mr. Ashton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services why a mobile miniature chest X-ray service is no longer provided in the Worksop and Retford Health District, which has a large number of coal miners, in view of the fact that volunteers for X-ray have to travel to Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, Chesterfield or Lincoln.

Dr. Owen

Since April 1973 the Nottinghamshire Area Health Authority (Teaching) has, in accordance with departmental and regional policy, been integrating the mass miniature radiography service into hospital radiological departments. Chest X-ray services for those requiring them are available in hospitals in the Worksop and Retford Health District, on referral by general practitioners.
