asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he is satisfied with the level of security in Londonderry.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The security forces respond to the level and nature of terrorist activities, in Londonderry as elsewhere in Northern Ireland. I am encouraged by the action taken by both communities in Londonderry to maintain peaceful conditions.

Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will take immediate steps to strengthen security in South Londonderry, by supplying the RUC with the vehicles it requires and with sufficient fire power to deal with IRA active units in that area.
