§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThe Northern Ireland Office was set up as a Department of State on 1st April 1972 and the information is provided from that date. In 1972–73 there were no people in the categories described; the figure for 1974–75 is five. The breakdown of the salary scales according to grades involved is as follows:
