HC Deb 22 January 1976 vol 903 c563W
19. Mr. Hooson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will arrange for a showing in the Grand Committee Room, or other convenient place, of all the films produced by his Department in the 1960s and thereafter to explain the workings of the single transferable vote for the Northern Ireland Assembly, so that Members, other than from Northern Ireland, can appreciate the explanations given of this system of voting.

Mr. Orme

No film has been produced by my Department to explain in detail the single transferable vote method of proportional representation although three films, each of a minute or less duration, have been produced for use on television, designed mainly to show electors how to mark a ballot paper and how to apply for a postal vote. Three official booklets which describe the system have been placed in the Library.
