§ Mr. Crowderasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will cause to be published in the local Press full details of the draft designation order for additional land to the north, north-east and east of Stevenage; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. OakesNotice of the making of the draft designation order was published in the local Press on 8th and 9th January, in the national Press on 9th and 12th January and inThe London Gazette on 9th January. The notice described the area to be designated and named those places, including local government offices in and around Stevenage, where copies of the draft order, the map annexed to it, and a descriptive statement could be seen. I do not consider that the publication of any further details in the Press would be helpful. The period for objections expired on 7th February. About 130 objections have been received, and I am proceeding with the arrangements for a public inquiry with respect to them.
