asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the construction of the Leven bypass originally scheduled for 1978.

Mr. Marks

This is a scheme for which the Humberside County Council is responsible as highway authority. The timing of its construction is, therefore, a matter for it to settle taking into account the competing needs of other transport expenditure in the county within its total available resources.
