HC Deb 04 February 1976 vol 904 cc654-5W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in the light of deprivation in Kirkby and the large number of houses requiring repair, he will make further funds available to Knowsley Metropolitan Council.

Mr. Freeson

I am aware of the problems facing Knowsley Borough Council over the condition of a large number of its dwellings and have, therefore, increased the allocation of capital resources available under Section 105 of the Housing Act 1974 to £2.75 million for 1976–77. With the carry forward of the sum it will be underspending this year, the council will, therefore, be able to spend almost £3 million on improving, converting or repairing its dwellings next year.
