HC Deb 02 February 1976 vol 904 c508W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will make a statement on whether the Government intend to help rehouse the Burrell Collection, acting in co-operation with the City of Glasgow District Council; and, if so, under what circumstances.

Mr. William Ross

I hope to announce shortly the Government's decision on the City of Glasgow District Council's request for consent to proceed with the proposed Burrell Gallery in 1976–77 and for an increase in the Government grant that was offered in 1967.
