asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the National Health Service abortion rate per 100 live births for Scotland in 1974 and 1975, respectively.

The rate of National Health Service abortions in Scotland per 100 live births was 10.6 in 1974 and 10.3 in 1975. The abortion figures for 1975 are provisional.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total number of abortions in Scotland in 1975; and how many of these were in National Health Service hospitals.

The provisional 1975 figure for the total number of abortions is 7,230, of which 7,080 were carried out in National Health Service hospitals.
