HC Deb 02 August 1976 vol 916 cc544-5W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Empliyment if, when introducing his proposed legislation to save public funds being paid to persons who retire early and draw unemployment pay, he will take steps to prevent top-paid civil servants on retirement from deferring the drawing of their retirement pensions until such time as a higher rate of pension has been earned and subsequently taking jobs in private industry associated with their former Civil Service employment.

Mr. Harold Walker

Legislation about National Insurance benefits and action on Civil Service pensions are not within my departmental responsibilities.
