Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will set out the sums allocated for home loans to each of the London borough councils and the Greater London Council for 1975–76 and 1976–77 compared with the actual figure of loans made during 1974–75.

Advances in 1974–75 to private persons for house purchase reported by these authorities and their allocations for 1976–77 are given below. In 1975–76 allocations made to individual local authorities were limited to 50 per cent. of the amounts they advanced during 1974–75.
