HC Deb 21 October 1975 vol 898 cc101-2W
Mr. Noble

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimate he has made of the number of persons receiving as part of their remuneration commission related to profit; what is the average sum thus received; and if such pay will be subject to present policy on cash limits.

Mr. Booth

The 1974 New Earnings Survey indicated that 28.7 per cent. of full-time men received part of their remuneration in the form of payment-by- results and other incentive payments, and 13.5 per cent. of full-time women. These figures include commission related to profit, but separate information is not available. As my hon. Friend said on 23rd July, pay increases under payment-by-results schemes which were established before 11th July and have not been improved since then are not subject to the £6 limit; they are, however, subject to the £8,500 cut-off.
