§ 44. Mr. Sillarsasked the Lord Advocate how many of his staff are engaged whole-time and part-time in the preparatory work for the possible transfer of Scottish law functions to the proposed Scottish Assembly.
The Lord AdvocateFive members of my staff have been engaged during the last year in work connected with the Government's devolution proposals, including an examination of the problems arising in the field of law functions. Although it has not been possible for any of these officials to deal whole-time with this work several of them have devoted a very large part of their time to it.
