Bennettasked the Secretary of State for the Environment following the 1975 Map Users' Conference held on 5th November, what changes in policy he expects the Ordnance Survey to carry out as a result of the conference; and if he is now able to publish a revised timetable for the publication 1:25,000 (2½ in. maps) in the second series.
§ Mr. OakesMy right hon. Friend does not expect the Ordnance Survey to carry out any major changes of policy as a676W result of this Conference, but it will take account of a number of useful suggestions made, at the Conference and at the other consultative meetings held recently. The Ordnance Survey now expects to complete the publication of the 1:25,000 Second Series around 1990, some 10 years earlier than the previous programme.
