HC Deb 30 June 1975 vol 894 cc325-6W
Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assistance he is giving to housing associations building their own homes.

Mr. William Ross

Housing associations building houses for letting may receive grant under the Housing Act 1974 in respect of expenditure on approved projects if they are registered under that Act. Unregistered housing associations are not so eligible, but an association which uses its members' own labour to provide houses for sale to them may be approved for income and corporation tax relief and for option mortgage subsidy, and loans may be obtained from the Housing Corporation or local authorities.
