§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if, in the light of the declaration by the Commonwealth Conference (Command Paper No. 6066, paragraph 12) that it was necessary that the authentic and legitimate representatives of the Palestinian people take part in peace negotiations in Geneva, Her Majesty's Government will now formally recognise the Palestine Liberation Organisation under the leadership of Yasser Arafat.
§ Mr. EnnalsNo. As my right hon. Friend said in the House on 25th March, we do not think we are called upon to express a view as to who should represent the Palestinian people. It is a matter for those more directly concerned.
