No official figures are available of production in the United Kingdom, but estimates put the 1974 harvest at about 10,000 gallons. The main countries from which the balance of imports were drawn were Spain, 31 per cent. of total United Kingdom supplies; France, 26 per cent.; Italy, 10 per cent.; and Cyprus, 10 per cent. Separate figures for production and consumption in Wales are not available.
