asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will amend the rules governing the operation of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board, so as to remove the limitation preventing the board from taking into account, in assessing compensation, earnings greater than twice the current average male earnings.

I shall consider the matter. As the hon. Gentleman no doubt knows, the operation of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme is currently being reviewed.
