Kaberryasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will ensure that there will be support by his Department for applications by the West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council for grants during 1976 from the EEC Regional Development Fund; and if he will publish the criteria which will be used in selecting projects:
(2) what consultations took place between his Department and the West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council concerning the selection of schemes put forward by the West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council for grants from the Regional Development Fund of the EEC.
§ Mr. John SilkinThe West Yorkshire Metropolitan County Council was among the authorities invited to submit infrastructure projects for consideration under the terms of the fund in 1975. Selection was guided by the criteria set down in the Fund Regulation and the economic and employment circumstances of the area. Similar procedures and criteria will apply for 1976 applications and submissions, but I hope to provide more detailed guidance when decisions have been taken on the applications already submitted.
