asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the United Kingdom delegation's opposition to the General Assembly vote to exclude South Africa from the United Nations.

The procedure used in the General Assembly to suspend South Africa was contrary to the United Nations Charter and we voted against the proposal.
