§ Mr. Roderickasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will seek the advice of local authorities in areas where motor rallies take place before finalising his views on the authorisation and control of such events.
§ Mr. MulleyAs I indicated in reply to my hon. Friend's Question on 11th April, my powers of control relate to motor rallies on the highway. The advisory committee on the control of such rallies, whom I shall consult in due course, includes local authority representatives. Additionally, any proposed amendments of the existing regulations will be referred to the local authority associations for comment.
