§ Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects to conclude the research exercise being carried out in conjunction with the Hertfordshire County Council concerning the control of commercial vehicle routes; and if he will make public the findings of such an exercise and the recommendations it contains for other county authorities concerned with the environmental consequences of heavy commercial vehicles.
§ Mr. MulleyArrangements are being made to carry out a research exercise jointly with Hertfordshire County Council. It will consist of studies in local planning for heavy lorries, and the work is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Reports will be issued for the information of local authorities generally.
