HC Deb 21 March 1974 vol 870 c160W
Mr. Harry Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Energy whether he proposes to make any change in the current oil allocations.

Mr. Varley

In view of the improved prospects for oil supplies and the need to remove hindrances to industrial production, I am suspending restrictions on the supply of all oil fuels, other than motor spirit and aviation gasolene, with effect from today. I would, however, emphasise that the need for economy in the use of all oil fuels remains of the utmost importance.
