How many special constables in the Metropolitan Police district were recruited as a result of the recruiting drive January 12 to 26 1974 referred to on pages 83 and 84 of the Commissioner's Report for 1973 (Cmnd. 5638).

The recruitment of a substantial proportion of the 486 men and women attested so far this year can be attributed to the campaign referred to in the Commissioner's report.
