HC Deb 24 July 1974 vol 877 c483W
Mr. Campbell

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many objections have been received, up to the latest date for which figures are available, from residents and/or societies to the oil rig platform site at Ardyne from (a) West Dunbartonshire, (b) Argyllshire, (c) Renfrewshire and (d) Ayrshire, respectively; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. William Ross

Six private persons—including five from addresses in Argyll—and one organisation lodged objections to the original application, which was granted. The application to extend the site, which has recently been favourably considered by the planning authority, was the subject of 224 objections sent to them, 211 from addresses in Bute and 11 from Argyll. None was received from addresses in West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire or Ayrshire. Two organisations also sent in objections. I have received objections from the same two organisations, and also from two individuals with addresses in Argyll and one with an address in Bute.
