asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing the infant mortality rate per 1,000 total births and the maternal mortality rate per 1,000 births in Scotland.

The rates for Scotland in 1973 are as follows:

Infant mortality rate per 1,000 total live births 18.98
Maternal mortality rate per 1,000 total live births 0.22
