§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will review the safety helmet regulations to take account of the position of the Sikh community who as a matter of religious conscience find themselves unable to comply.
§ Mr. MulleyI have reviewed the regulations and come to the conclusion that I should not be justified in making a special exception for the Sikhs. I have, however, agreed to see a deputation from the Sikh community.
