Friend the Member for Chorley (Mr. Rodgers) on 8th April 1974 I made it clear that, in making these appointments, we pay regard to the individual requirements of each town and, in so doing, appreciate the need as a general rule to increase the number of corporation members who are also elected members of the local authorities concerned. This policy remains unchanged.
