HC Deb 02 July 1974 vol 876 c152W
Mr. Watt

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total value of the Scottish fishing catch last year and what proportion of this was exported to (a) England and (b) overseas.

Mr. William Ross

British vessels based at Scottish ports landed catches valued at £63.4 million in 1973. This figure includes £3 million for fish landed by such vessels in England and the Isle of Man.

Information is not available on the amount of fish landed in Scotland and transported to England. As regards exports overseas it is not possible to distinguish in the United Kingdom export statistics fish and fish products derived from the Scottish catch.
